Social, Spiritual, Moral and Cultural development (SMSC) is a crucial part of our children's mental and physical wellbeing and learning.  We want them to be confident and resilient as they learn to identify and manage risks, make informed choices and understand what influences their decisions. We want our children to lead safe and healthy lives and celebrate being unique - high self-esteem is important to us. We provide opportunities for them to play a positive role in school and within our community and challenge them to respond to differences of opinions. Everyone is valued.

Our PSHE curriculum follows the Cambridgeshire Primary Personal Development Programme.

Our PSHE curriculum is designed to equip pupils with a sound understanding of risk and provide them with the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions so that they can successfully manage their lives – now and in the future.

Relationships and Sex Education

As a part of your child’s educational experience at South Kilworth Primary, we aim to promote personal wellbeing and development through a cohesive programme of Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education that gives children and young people the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills to live healthy and safe lives. We want our children to be prepared for the future

The Department for Education announced changes to Relationships and Sex Education following nationwide consultation. These changes came into effect from September 2020 and all schools are required to comply with the updated requirements.
